OMAHA, Neb. –
The Omaha men's basketball team capped the 2012-13 season on Saturday afternoon, falling 84-57 to North Dakota State at Ralston Arena. In their second year of a four-year reclassification to Division I, the Mavericks finished with a record of 11-20 (6-10 Summit League), while the Bison improved to 22-8 (12-4 Summit League) and move on to the conference tournament.

Freshman guard Marcus Tyus paced UNO with 10 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field, and he pulled down a team-best four rebounds. Junior forward Matt Hagerbaumer also grabbed four boards and had two points.

Junior guard Justin Simmons chipped in nine points, three rebounds, three assists and a block. Sophomore guard CJ Carter posted eight points, while junior guard Alex Phillips added four of his own. Senior forward Alex Welhouse and junior center John Karhoff matched each other in scoring with five points apiece.

North Dakota State was led by three players with double-figure scoring efforts: Taylor Braun (22 points), Marshall Bjorklund (18) and TrayVonn Wright (15). For his part, Bjorklund shot 8-of-9 from the floor, while Wright notched six rebounds and a pair of blocks. Jordan Aaberg topped NDSU on the glass with eight rebounds.

The Bison shot .577 (30-of-52) to UNO's .333 (21-of-63), and they finished at .412 (7-of-17) from long range to the Mavericks' .176 (3-of-17).
