PEORIA, Ill. - The UNO men's and women's golf teams are looking to move up the leader board after the first two rounds of the Hotels at Grand Prairie Invitational at Bradley.
The men are in fourth place out of five teams with a total score of 621. Loyola leads with a score of 577 followed by the host Braves at 590. Wisconsin-Green Bay is third at 597.
The women are in 10th out of 10 teams with a score of 679. Northern Iowa leads with a score of 597. Southern Illinois is second at 612, and Indiana State is third with a team score of 624.
On the men's side, Mitch Johnson leads the Mavs with a 36-hole score of 152, good for a tie for 10th overall. His first round score of 75 was the low round of the day for the Mavericks.
Michael Shukis is second for UNO and 14th overall, one stroke behind Johnson. Karl Krieser is third with a score of 159, putting him 20th overall. Taylor Sidzyik is one shot behind after back-to-back rounds of 80.
Alex Holtan completed the scoring for UNO at 164.
Rebecca Pollock led the women on the first day of competition with a score of 166, putting her in a tie for 35th overall. She's one stroke ahead of teammate
Elizabeth Havekost. Brooke Thilges is third for UNO and tied for 45th overall at 171.
Melyssa Doerr is fourth for the Mavs at 175, and
Danielle Kuchar fifth at 193.
The final round for both the men and the women will be Saturday morning at 8 a.m.
