EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Sophomore Brooke Thilges shot a score of 84 in the first round to lead the UNO women's golf team at the Southern Illinois-Edwardsville Intercollegiate on Monday.
The Mavericks are in sixth place in the nine-team tournament with a score of 347. Southern Illinois leads with a score of 311. The Salukis had the top four individual finishers. Host SIUE and Eastern Illinois are tied for second at 337.
Thilges had matching 42s on the front and the back to finish first for UNO and in a tie for 11th overall.
Elizabeth Havekost was second for UNO and tied for 19th at 86.
Armana Christianson was third for the Mavs with an 87, and
Melyssa Doerr was fourth after carding a 90. Junior transfer
Danielle Kuchar rounded out the scoring for UNO with a 93.
The final round will begin Tuesday morning.
