Armana Christianson shot a career-low round of 73 on Tuesday to propel the UNO women's golf team to third place at the Wildwood Lodge/Concordia Invitational.
One day after carding an 84, Christianson shot a one-over-par round to finish in sixth place overall with a score of 157.
The Mavericks shaved 24 strokes off their team score to move from fifth to third on the final day at the Tartan Park Golf Club. They finished with a team total of 656. Augustana won the event with a 36-hole score of 621, 20 strokes ahead of runner-up and host Concordia St. Paul.
Christianson's fellow senior
Rebecca Pollock shot 76, 10 strokes better than her first-round score to finish second for UNO and in a tie with teammate Brooke Thilges for 12th overall with scores of 162. Thilges had an 84 on Tuesday, one day after leading UNO with a 78.
Elizabeth Havekost was fourth in scoring for UNO. She, too, took 10 strokes off her round-one score, closing the tournament with an 83 for a two-day total of 176.
Melyssa Doerr rounded out the scoring with a cumulative score of 184.
The Mavericks will take part in their first Division I tournament when they travel to the Southern Illinois-Edwardsville Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 26 and 27.
