The UNO men's basketball cruised to an 82-49 win over Hastings College at Sapp Fieldhouse on Monday night. With the win, UNO improves to 6-8 on the year, while Hastings drops to 7-9.

Sophomore center John Karhoff led the way with 15 points, as well as five rebounds. Senior guard Mitch Albers added 12 points, while freshman guard CJ Carter and senior center John Ring added 10 points apiece, with Ring chipping in six boards. Sophomore forward Matt Hagerbaumer topped the effort on the glass, posting a career-high-tying nine rebounds in addition to a pair of blocks.

Hastings was led by Zach Lenagh's 12 points and Jake Marvin's five rebounds.

As a team, UNO shot 61.5 percent from the floor and held the Broncos to a 28.8 percent performance. The Mavs also shot 9-for-20 from behind the arc and kept Hastings to just a trio of treys for the night.

UNO used 65.4 percent first-half shooting from the floor to take an easy 14-2 lead, started by an opening dunk from Hagerbaumer. Six different Maverick scorers pushed it to 30-13, and a 3-pointer from Carter helped it to 33-15. Baskets by Ring and Carter made it 37-17, followed by a three from junior guard Bill Freeman. Ring tossed in UNO's final score of the half, giving the Mavs a 42-21 edge going into the locker room.

In the second half, UNO was aided by eight points from junior guard Jacques Coleman, as well as seven from Albers and six on two pairs of 3-pointers from freshman guard Mitchell Farr. With 1:30 to go in the game, a 3-pointer from junior guard Tyler Egli gave Nebraska Omaha its largest lead of the game with a 36-point margin.

UNO returns to action Dec. 29-30, traveling to the Elgin Baylor Classic in Seattle, Wash. The Mavs face host Seattle on Thursday at 10:15 p.m. (CT), then pair with Coppin State on Friday at 8 p.m. (CT).
