MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The UNO men's basketball team dropped a road loss to defending Horizon League regular-season champion Milwaukee on Saturday night, falling 86-50 at the Klotsche Center. With the loss, the Mavericks are 5-8 on the year, while the Panthers improve to 9-3.

UWM was paced by three players with double-figure scoring – Tony Meier (19), Kaylon Williams (17) and Paris Gulley (12). The trio combined for all 12 of Milwaukee's earliest 3-pointers made for the night. Meier added seven rebounds, and Williams contributed six of his own.
As a team, UNO finished with .396 shooting for the night and recorded just three 3-pointers, helped by a pair of late treys from junior guard
Tyler Egli.
Milwaukee shot .484 from the floor and .517 (15-for-29) from long range, including 10 threes in the first half alone. The Panthers also forced 19 UNO turnovers while committing just 10 themselves.
Milwaukee ran out to an early 9-0 lead with the help of a pair of 3-pointers, which set the tone for the entire first half. As a team, the Panthers went on to shoot 10-for-17 from long range in the opening 20 minutes, led by four 3-pointers from Meier and three apiece from Williams and Gulley. Williams was UWM's leading scorer with 17 first-half points, followed by 14 from Meier.
With the Mavs down 18-8, Milwaukee went on a 23-2 scoring run to go up 41-10 with just under five minutes to go. Consecutive threes from Meier and Williams sandwiched baskets from Carter and Karhoff, and a final dunk from UWM's Ryan Allen gave the Panthers a 50-20 lead at halftime.
Albers accounted for eight points in the second half, which brought him with two of the 1,500 career points mark. The Papillion, Neb., native sits at fourth in school history with 1,498 points over the last four seasons.
UWM took its largest lead of the game with a 44-point margin in the second stanza, but UNO managed to hit the half-century mark with the efforts from Albers and Egli and another five points from freshman guard

UNO returns to action on Monday, Dec. 21, hosting in-state opponent Hastings College. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at Sapp Fieldhouse for the Mavs' final game before winter break.
