OMAHA, Neb. - The UNO golf team has been ranked 15th in the country among Division II schools in the latest poll conducted by
Golf World magazine and the National Golf Coaches Association. This is the first poll of the spring season.
The Mavericks received 105 points in the voting.
Florida Southern topped the poll with seven first-place votes and 246 points followed by Nova Southeastern which received three first place votes and 239 points. Rollins College rounds out the top three with 219 points.
Two of UNO's rivals in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, Truman State and Northwest Missouri State, also received votes although neither appeared in the top 25.
The Mavericks finished the fall season with three straight first place finishes. They also earned a second-, third- and fifth-place finish.
UNO begins the spring season on Sunday, March 22 at the Wayne State College Invite. The MIAA Championship will be held on April 19-21 in Kansas City, Mo.
