The Mavericks will make their second straight NCAA Division II tournament appearance and their 10th overall when they meet Winona State in a first-round game on Saturday, March 12 at 3:30 p.m. at the Auraria Events Center on the campus of Metropolitan State College in Denver, Colo., in the North Central Regional.

The game will be broadcast on KOIL, 1020 AM in Omaha and on KJSK, 900 AM in Columbus with David Gustafson calling the action.
The Record & Rankings
The Mavericks are 23-5 on the season and won the North Central Conference regular season title with a 9-3 mark. UNO was ranked No. 5 in last week's NABC poll.
The Coach
Kevin McKenna is in his fourth season as the head coach of the Mavericks, with a record of 89-32. He has guided the Mavs to four straight 20-win seasons, two North Central Conference titles and two appearances in the NCAA II tournament. McKenna is a 1993 graduate of Creighton. He was named the NCC's coach of the year last season. McKenna's NCC record is 40-20.
UNO in the NCC
The Mavericks captured their fourth North Central Conference regular season championship last Saturday and their second in a row. UNO's other titles came in 1979 and 1984.

The Mavericks are are 3-6 in first-round games in the NCAA Division II basketball tournament.

The Mavericks fell to South Dakota, 81-71, in the opening round of last year's regional meet in Denver.
