Adam Hooi is now in his second full season with the Omaha women’s soccer program. Hooi’s main duties as goalkeeper coach include mentoring and training Omaha’s goalkeepers. He is in his third year as the head boys’ soccer coach at Elkhorn South High School and will continue in that role while assisting the Maverick program.
Head Coach Don Klosterman is excited about Hooi joining the Mavs. “Adam will be an integral part and excellent addition to our staff. His coaching background and knowledge of the game can only help strengthen our program.”
Prior to coaching at Elkhorn South High School, Hooi was an academy director and coach for the Elkhorn Soccer Club.
Previously, Hooi helped coach the men’s and women’s teams at his alma mater, Bellevue University. With the Bruins, Hooi served as a graduate assistant with the men’s team right after graduation. He followed that up by spending two seasons as a goalkeeper coach with the women’s squad.
Before his coaching career began, Hooi played in the Premier Development League (PDL) for both the Des Moines Menace and the El Paso Patriots.
Hooi received a Bachelor of Arts in Sport Management from Bellevue University in 2009. At Bellevue, Hooi was a four-year starter and two-time all-conference selection. He was named the Bellevue University Male Athlete of the year in 2009.
