Trevor Reeves was announced as the compliance coordinator in the Summer of 2021. This marks his second stint with the Omaha Mavericks. Reeves’ responsibilities include providing NCAA rules education and interpretations to student-athletes and coaches for the Mavericks 16 sports. He also manages and oversees all aspects of the department’s financial aid, National Letter of Intent program, initial-eligibility, transfer eligibility and playing/practice seasons.
Prior to rejoining UNO Athletics Reeves worked for the Ohio Valley Conference in Brentwood, Tennessee as the Director of Compliance and Institutional Services. During his time at the Ohio Valley Conference, Reeves assisted all aspects of the Conference’s rules compliance program. His responsibilities included helping coordinate the OVC’s enforcement program, administering the National letter of Intent program, and administering necessary compliance paperwork including squad lists, eligibility forms, hardship waiver applications and medical absence waivers.
Reeves’ first stint with UNO Athletics was from 2017 to 2019 working as the Compliance Coordinator.
From 2016 to 2017 Reeves was a part of the Postgraduate Intern program at the NCAA in Indianapolis. He served as the Division I Governance Intern and was tasked with creating and updating agenda items in regard to legislative content for the Division I Board of Directors and the Division I Council meetings. Reeves also assisted with the National Letter of Intent program.
Reeves was a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Wayne State College, where he taught courses for the Health, Human Performance and Sport Department. During this time he was also a volunteer assistant coach on the Wayne State baseball team and volunteered with the athletic department, working in an academic advising capacity with at-risk baseball student-athletes.
A Colorado City, Colo., native, Reeves participated on the baseball team at Wayne State College, where he was also the conference’s National Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) representative. Reeves graduated from Wayne State College with his bachelor’s degree in speech communication and mass communication in 2013. He earned his master’s degree in organizational management from Wayne State in 2016.
