Thomas Stopak

Thomas Stopak enters his first season as an assistant coach with Omaha track & field in the fall of 2021. 

He joins the Mavericks after serving as a graduate assistant with the Northern State track and field team. While with Northern State, Stopak assisted the jumps and sprints athletes. He helped coach horizontal jumps to four school records in the 2021 season. He also assisted in coaching two athletes to records in the multi-events, indoor pentathlon and indoor heptathlon in the 2020 season.

In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Stopak helped Northern State bring in two of the largest recruiting classes in 2020 and 2021. He was responsible for helping recruit, implementing training plans, and meet management. 

As an athlete, Stopak competed at Nebraska Kearney. He notched a third place finish at the MIAA Championship in 2018 in the long jump event. His personal best was 7.45 meters, which is third all-time in program history.

Stopak earned a bachelor of science degree in sports management from Nebraska Kearney in 2019. He went on to receive is masters in sports performance and leadership at Northern State in 2021.
