Angie Kennedy

Angie Kennedy is an accomplished Creative Director with nearly 20 years of expertise in marketing and advertising. She leads the creative team within the Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), where she’s been instrumental in designing, executing, and refining a wide range of marketing campaigns that resonate with audiences and drive measurable results.

Before joining UNO, Angie honed her expertise as an Art Director and Account Planner at JD Gordon Advertising, where she developed a holistic approach to marketing. By leveraging competitor analysis, in-depth research, and integrated strategies, she crafted campaigns that seamlessly aligned with clients’ missions and goals. Earlier in her career, she also worked as a Social Media Specialist at Chatterkick, further expanding her skills in digital marketing and preparing her for a dynamic career in an evolving industry.

Angie earned her Bachelor of Journalism in Advertising from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and graduated first in her class from The Creative Center with an Associates of Occupational Studies in Graphic Design, receiving a Silver Student Addy for her work.

Her work has garnered numerous awards, including recognition from the American Marketing Association (AMA), American Advertising Federation (AAF), and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). Publications like HOW Design Magazine and Graphic Design USA have featured her contributions, reflecting her passion for pushing creative boundaries and achieving meaningful results.

Among her achievements, Angie was awarded the University of Nebraska Kudos Award in 2019 for her exceptional commitment to UNO. Her leadership has been pivotal in making UNO’s marketing campaigns not only visually compelling but also strategically impactful, delivering high-quality, targeted messages across digital, print, and social platforms.

Angie’s goal is to continue driving innovative, purpose-driven marketing initiatives that showcase UNO’s unique value in the higher education landscape. Her mission is rooted in authenticity, creativity, and adaptability—values that guide her as she fosters an inclusive and forward-thinking creative environment.
