Brian Carey assumed duties as UNO’s Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance on November 1, 2014. Carey came to the Omaha athletic department after serving as the Assistant Director of Compliance at the University of Denver since 2011. Prior to his time at DU, Brian served as the Compliance Coordinator at Eastern Michigan University.
Carey manages all aspects of Omaha’s compliance program and serves as the primary liaison for coaches, student-athletes, boosters and the university community. In this role, he acts as the primary administrator for all educational outreach efforts, coordinates the department's financial aid program and oversees recruiting and playing seasons. In addition, Carey oversees the eligibility processing of student-athletes and coordinates interactions between coaches, current and prospective student-athletes, the Summit League, the NCHC and the NCAA. Carey also supervises the athletic compliance office internship program.
A native of Omaha, Carey graduated from Nebraska with his bachelor's degree in Political Science in 1998. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Texas Tech in 2001.
