Matt Grosey joined the UNO coaching staff as an undergraduate volunteer assistant for the 2014 season. Grosey completed a stellar two-year career with the Mavericks and went on to star in net for the Kitsap Pumas of the PDL, helping the team to a 9-1-4 regular-season record and the PDL Northwest Division Title. Grosey posted a 0.75 goals against average in nine games with Kitsap, fifth-best in the league.

2013 (Senior)
Served as the Mavs' captain and played every minute in goal, producing 50 saves, a .704 save percentage and 1.28 goals against average...was named Summit League Defensive Player of the Week for the second time in his career on Sept. 9 after shutting out Columbia, 1-0...allowed just five goals in six conference games to rank second in the league in fewest goals allowed...posted four clean sheets and recorded a school-record six wins in net...finished with seven career shutouts...made a career-high six saves in a 3-0 shutout of Eastern Illinois on Nov. 3, 2013...allowed just one goal over the final three games of the season.

2012 (Junior)
Earned All-Summit League Second-Team honors in his first year at UNO after starting 15 games and posting 65 saves to rank fourth in The Summit League...earned three clean sheets to tie for third in the conference and finished fourth with a 1.70 goals against average...recorded a .714 save percentage and finished with a record of 5-9-1 in net...led the Mavs in allowing just seven conference goals to rank second in the conference with a 0.96 goals against average against conference foes...was named Summit League Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 1 after shutting out IUPUI and stopping a penalty kick late in the game.

Before UNO
Was the starting goalkeeper for two years at West Valley College in Saratoga, Calif....was named the Coast Conference Goalkeeper of the Year twice and earned first-team All-Coast Conference honors following both seasons...was named to the California Community College All-North Region team following his sophomore season in 2011 after making 67 saves and recording a goals against average of 0.89...as a freshman in 2010, made 70 saves and recorded a 0.58 goals against average...played high school soccer at Junipero Serra in San Mateo, Calif., where he tied the West Catholic Athletic League shutout record with 10 in his senior season...was named varsity captain, team MVP and first-team All-WCAL...played club soccer for DV8 Soccer, qualifying for the 2011 U.S. Open Cup.
