WARRENSBURG, Mo. – After the first session of the 2010 NCAA Division II Super Regionals, eight Maverick wrestlers have earned their way to the championship match of their weight class. #Cody Garcia#, #Mario Morgan#, #George Ivanov#, #Ryan Pankoke#, #Aaron Denson#, #Jacob Marrs# and #Elijah Madison# will all battle for first place.
UNO has a commanding lead in the team standings with 154 points. Wisconsin-Parkside is in second with 119 points, while Central Oklahoma is in third with 103 team points.
At 184, #Austin Boehm# will wrestle for third place. He pinned #5 Phil Witt of Central Missouri to move on to the third-place match. Boehm was defeated by #3 Jeff Havelka of Findlay 4-3 in the semifinal bout.
Down 4-2 in the second period, redshirt freshman #Terrell McKinney# stormed back with a late takedown and a nearfall to notch the 8-4 win over third seed Casy Rowell of Central Oklahoma in the consolation semifinal elimination match. McKinney will face #6 Brandon Davis in the third place match. McKinney’s win over Rowell insured him of his first ever trip to the national tournament.
