DES MOINES, Iowa - Omaha men's soccer (0-3-1, 0-0-0 Summit) was unable to hold on Wednesday as Drake (2-0-2, 0-0-0 MVC) equalized midway through the second half to finish up a 1-1 draw at Mediacom Stadium. The match marked the fourth-straight draw between Omaha and Drake.
- Omaha senior goalkeeper Cole Stewart (Lee's Summit, Mo.) made an early stop on the first shot-on-target he faced in the third minute.
- A ninth-minute corner kick for the home Bulldogs allowed Preston Kipnusu to get in position for a header just in front of Stewart for another save.
- Drake outshot Omaha 2-0 in the first 15 minutes of the opening half.
- The Mavericks broke open the tally for the second time this season (FIU) with a 39' set piece goal off a corner kick by graduate student midfielder Yoshiki Igarashi (Tokyo, Japan), booted home by sophomore forward Bradley Takamo (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) after the winger came off the bench for his second goal of the season. Takamo now holds both of Omaha's goals scored in 2025.
- After the halftime break, which Omaha held the lead in for the second time this season, Drake was able to equalize in the 61' with a penalty kick goal taken by Jackson Kirsch.
- The sides combined for just one shot-on-goal after the Drake score.
- A total of 10 yellow cards were issued.
Omaha's road trip continues with a trip back to the Metro for a crosstown battle with Creighton as the Dodge Street Derby takes place Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 7:45 p.m. CT on ESPN+ live from Morrison Stadium.
