OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha dominated the time of possession and outshot visiting Oral Roberts 21-6, but couldn't find the net in a 1-0 Summit League loss at Caniglia Field.
The Mavericks (6-5-3, 1-3-1) held Oral Roberts (6-4-3, 3-2-0) to one first half shot, but Luis Flores' blast out of the reach of
Nathanael Sallah on a set play was enough for the win. Sallah had no chance on the  direct kick, with the Golden Eagles decoying a shot from Omar Mora, who deferred to Flores for the unassisted goal at 12:50.
Omaha pressed the play from the start, outshooting ORU 9-1 in the opening half, but only two were on goal.
The Mavericks had their best chances on a penalty kick by
Mathis Pilon St-Louis 52:40 into the match, but Joao Mesquita made the save and Pilon St-Louis' try off the rebound went wide to the right.
Bradley Takamo had seven shots,
Theo Klein four (two on goal) and Pilon St-Louis four, with the one on goal.
The Mavericks' third straight loss puts them in a must-win scenario with three games remaining in the Summit League campaign. They travel to Kansas City for a 7 p.m. Saturday night match October 26 and then to St. Thomas November 2 at 1 p.m. Omaha returns home for their final regular season match and a Senior Day celebration November 9 against Denver at Caniglia Field.
Tickets for Omaha's remaining home game are available at OMavs.com/tix. All remaining Mavericks games are scheduled for broadcast on the Summit League Network.
