The No. 4 Omaha women's tennis team fell to No. 1 Denver in the semifinal round of the Summit League women's tennis championships on Friday, Apr. 21 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

"Really proud of the effort today. Denver is one of the top teams in the country and we knew how tough it was," noted Head Coach Adam Summitt. "We didn't back down and played some really good doubles. We had chances to pull away and even it up. Going into singles Denver's talent really came through. They're very disciplined and make us earn everything. Zoe and Jessica were really competing ball for ball with their opponents.

Keegan VanPelt and Brooke Covington dropped a doubles match to the Pioneers' Wikander and Driscoll by a score of six sets to three. Zoe Adkins and Addison Miller fell to Denver's Martinez de Velasco and Burguete Beltran by a score of 6-1.

Today also marked the final match in the career of Ines Absisan. She finishes her time in Omaha with 99 wins, tying her for the sixth most in program history.

"Really proud of Ines," said Summitt. "She wears her heart on her sleeve and competed since she's arrived in Omaha."

Omaha's season now officially comes to an end with a record of 8-15. 

"Overall I'm proud of the group," concluded Summitt. "We had to rally the season to get into the tournament. Not an easy task to do. Looking forward to an off season and getting back together in August."
