The KING OF PKs

Theo Klein, the King of PKs, single-handedly broke three penalty kick records in one go. There was no question that if Klein was on the field he would be the one lining up to the kick. Why? Because he doesn't miss. On the season Klein lined up for seven kicks, making all but one. Klein went a perfect 2-of-2 on PKs in the match against Western Illinois.

Individual Season Shutouts - Tied - Nathanael Sallah - 6

Tied: Joesph Ghitis (2016)

"Sallah Shutouts"… has a nice ring to it. In fact, Sallah's shutouts were a key factor to the Mavericks winning themselves a championship ring.

It all started with the Chicago State game, his first of the year. Little did we know he would go on a three-game shutout streak.

His second and third were against UTRGV (1-0) and Western Illinois (3-0) at home. The cherry on top of the three-game shutout streak at home was after his seven saves against the Leathernecks, Sallah would have a new career-high saves.

It wouldn't be until Oral Roberts paid a visit for the last home game of the season, that Sallah would give up a goal at home. He put up shutouts at five of the six home games he played in.

Objectively, his most important shutouts this season though were in the Summit League Tournament. After not having beat ORU since 2021, with the help of his defense, Sallah shutout the Golden Eagles in the Semifinals.

Sallah shutout Kansas City in the championship game, making a career-tying seven saves. Not only did he make some impressive saves but Sallah was faced with a penalty kick in the final minutes of the match. With his sixth shutout of the season, Sallah had earned a championship ring and earned the Tournament MVP after not allowing a single goal.
