- The Mavericks dropped a close one in the first after fighting back late and nearly forcing an extended set. Bryn McNair, making just her second career appearance, provided an early spark for Omaha as she scored her first career kill in start of the set. She would pick up two more in the set, including a massive hit to briefly keep Omaha alive at 24-22.
- Trailing early on, Omaha was able to pull ahead in the middle of the second as McNair fueled a 4-0 run with a pair of kills and a block to make it 14-11. Fellow freshmen Amanda Hardt and Emily Huss came in clutch as well, with the former leading the offense with four kills, and the latter recording two blocks and a kill. Up 22-18, these three would score the next three points in order to win it for Omaha.
- The Mavericks defense continued to make big plays in the third as Erica Fava and Kenedy Schaecher laid out for multiple key digs to maintain the slim lead for much of the set. Rachel Fairbanks provided the bulk of the offense with five kills, while Hardt, McNair, and McKenna Ruch combined for another seven. With the Mavericks up 19-16, however, the Bison managed to break through for the first time all set with an 8-0 run to pull ahead and win it.
- After three kills from Ruch gave Omaha a 9-7 advantage to begin the fourth, NDSU scored seven unanswered and, despite several more kills and blocks from Ruch and Fairbanks, did so for good.
