Newton, Kan.- The Omaha women's golf team wrapped up its season with a seventh-place finish at the 2022 Summit League Championship on Tuesday, April 26.
The Mavericks shot 310 and 321 in the first and second rounds, respectively. They added 312 in the third round for a total score of 943, falling four strokes behind North Dakota who takes sixth.
Mandi Granato climbed 10 spots on the leaderboard in the final round to finish with a share of 14th place. The junior shot 71(-1) with five birdies in the third round to end with a total score of 227. Granato finished with her lowest round-score of the year at 71.
Jinna Boonbumroongsuk shot 78(+6) in the final round to earn a share of 27th place overall. The sophomore scored 236 throughout the event. Boonbumroongsuk led the Mavericks in seven of the ten tournaments this season.
Freshmen Sydney Taake and Emma Kirvan scored 81 and 82 in the third round, respectively. Taake finished with a total score of 239, while Kirvan closed the championship with 241.
Mika Miyata added 84 in the final round for a three-day total of 245. The sophomore birdied four holes throughout the tournament.
The Mavericks' best finish of the season was at the Creighton Classic, where they took second place. The team's lowest single-round score came at the Stampede at the Creek, where Omaha totaled 293.
