Omaha celebrated Senior Day Sunday at the Koch Tennis Center, where it honored
Matt Hulme,
Ethan Henry,
Yaswanth Mylavarapu and
Jacob Weber as it faced Summit League-leading Denver Sunday.
All four then competed for the Mavericks in their final home match at the Koch Tennis Center – a 7-0 loss to the Pioneers that officially ended their bid for a spot in the upcoming conference championships.
Omaha, 0-4 in Summit play, remained tied with Oral Roberts in fifth place in the league standings. The two teams meet next week in Tulsa, Okla., but neither of them can catch fourth-place Illinois State.
The top four teams in the league advance to the championship, scheduled to take place at Koch.
Denver, which clinched at least a share of the league title and the top seed for the tournament on Sunday, won every match in straight sets. The Pioneers have won the last three Summit League regular-season titles and seven in the last eight completed seasons.
