OMAHA, Neb. – Vice Chancellor / Director of Athletics Adrian Dowell announced the addition of Brock Wissmiller to the staff as an Assistant Athletic Director / Director of Development Wednesday afternoon. Wissmiller will begin March 21.
"We are excited to welcome Brock to Omaha Athletics," said Dowell. "Brock brings a wealth of experience in intercollegiate athletics including in the Summit League and a successful track record in athletic fundraising. We look forward to the impact he will make by working with our fan base to further support Maverick student-athletes."
Wissmiller joins the Maverick family after an 11-year stint at Upper Iowa as the Senior Associate Athletic Director and Director of Athletic Development. He also served as an Assistant Athletic Director for External Affairs with the Peacocks.
In his previous role at Upper Iowa, Wissmiller oversaw all development and fundraising operations for Peacock Athletics, in addition to serving as the sport administrator for men's basketball, men's and women's bowling, cheerleading & dance, esports, men's soccer and tennis.
Wissmiller assisted in rebranding the fundraising efforts which included the name change to the Peacock Athletic Fund. Through the new branding and communication efforts, the department's fundraising increased across the board. He handled all coordination of department events and VIP areas at the department's facilities. He also oversaw the annual Peacock Golf Classic.
Prior to his stint at Upper Iowa, Wissmiller served as the Director of Marketing and Assistant Director of Development with Western Illinois. He led the marketing efforts for all 20 Division I sports programs at WIU.

Wissmiller earned his MBA at Upper Iowa in 2019. He earned his Master of Science degree in Sports Management in 2009 and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcasting in 2007 from Western Illinois.
