How It Happened
- The Mavericks put away their second shot of the match Saturday morning for a 1-0 advantage in the 17th minute. Kenji Mboma Dem set up for a corner kick and passed into the box. Rochester downed the ball with his head and put it in the back of the net with his right foot for the game-winner.
- Omaha placed two more shots on goal before the half ended, but Chad Smith got both saves in goal. The Mavericks led 1-0 at the break.
- The Rochester - Mboma Dem duo struck again in the 49th minute to double the Maverick lead. Mboma Dem tracked down the ball tapping it to Rochester with one touch. Rochester aimed low right for the goal.
- Three minutes later Omaha caused a flurry of action that started with a shot on goal by Naz Astwood. Smith made the save, but the deflection went straight back to Dominik Danis whose attempt was saved by an EIU defender. Theo Klein then got his foot on the rebound, but EIU blocked it out of bounds forcing a corner kick.
- Sam Pollard's attempt off the kick was saved but found the feet of Astwood who sent it off the right woodwork. Klein would get one more attempt in the chaos, but it went wide left resulting in the goal kick.
- Mboma Dem added to his point total in the 88th minute with Omaha's third goal of the day. Astwood fed the ball to Mboma Dem at the top of the box. He beat the charging keeper for a 3-0 lead.
- Hermansson earned the opportunity to extend the lead on a penalty kick in the 90th minute. Jude Spallinger fouled Tomas Restrepo in the box for the PK, and Hermansson put it low right for the 4-0 win.
