The Mavericks Drop Opener at Bradley

PEORIA, Ill. - Despite outshooting the Braves 13-4, the Mavericks dropped their season opener at Bradley Thursday night. Bradley converted on a shot in the 71st minute to secure a 1-0 win over Omaha.

With the loss, the Mavericks fall to 0-1-0.

How It Happened
  • Tevin Rochester came out aggressive for Omaha firing off three shots in the first five minutes of action. His first attempt at the 1:29 mark was on target and forced an early Bradley save. He sent another shot on goal at the 4:00 mark, and 29 second later he took one wide of the target.
  • Kenji Mboma Dem took two back-to-back in the 18th and 21st minute. Both went high, while Neville Morgan and Ed Port tallied one each at the 24:41 and 24:42 marks that were blocked.
  • Hugo Kametani put a shot on target in the 40th minute, but Bryce Logan remained solid in goal tallying another save for the Braves. Omaha held the Braves without a shot in the first half, and the match remained scoreless at halftime.
  • Omaha took two shots in the first twenty minutes of action before the Braves tallied their first of the match.
  • Dominik Danis received his second yellow card of the match resulting in a red card and an ejection in the 71st minute. Bradley capitalized on the advantage and netted the game winner on its first shot of the match.
  • Jake Schoffstall flicked the ball past Lute Lillo Portero in goal on a header from Patrick Fishborn. 
  • Hugo Kametani tallied Omaha's final shot on goal in the 80th minute trying to knot the game, but the Braves held on for a 1-0 win.
