SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Summit League announced today its list of 816 student-athletes named to the Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence, a list that included 94 Mavericks.
To earn the honor, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average, have used a year of eligibility and completed one year at their school.
The Mavericks ranked fourth out of the nine full-time Summit League members in number of student-athletes selected (94) and fifth in total number of selections (94). The latter number accounts for student-athletes recognized for both cross country and track & field.
Omaha swimming & diving led the Mavericks with 12 student-athletes earning the honor. Baseball and women's soccer followed with 11 players each.
In addition, Omaha women's soccer was recognized with the Team Academic Achievement Award which notes the highest percentage of list eligible student-athletes named to the Commissioner's List.
