SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Anna Blaschko,
Sadie Limback and
Sami Clarkson earned a spot on the 2020 Summit League Volleyball Academic All-League Team, the league office announced Wednesday.
A total of eight student-athletes were named to the team and honored for their academic and athletic performances this season.
Blaschko was named to the team for the third year in a row and Limback earned the honor for the second consecutive season while the six other student-athletes post their first appearance on the team.
Blaschko carries a 3.88 grade-point average in neuroscience while totaling 170 kills and 2.39 kills per set this season. The Shakopee, Minn., native was sixth in the league with a .286 hitting percentage and tallied 10 or more kills in nine matches this season, including a season-high 18 kills in a four-set win at Western Illinois.
Limback holds a 4.0 GPA in kinesiology while being named to the All-Summit First Team and AVCA All-Midwest Region Team. The Waverly, Mo., native became the first player in Summit League history to be named Summit League Offensive Player of the Week four weeks in a row. Limback finished the season as the league leader with a .404 hitting percentage while third in kills and kills per set. The junior is the only Summit League player to have 25 or more kills in three matches this season.
Clarkson has a 4.0 GPA in kinesiology while earning All-Summit Honorable Mention honors this season. The Omaha native finished the season as the league leader with 10.57 assists per set and second with 761 assists on the year. Clarkson had 60 assists in a win at North Dakota State, the most assists in a single match by a Summit League player this season. The junior tallied nine double-doubles on the year and had nine matches with 40 or more assists, including three matches with at least 50 assists.
To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team's competitions.
