Mavericks Move Up To Tie For Fifth at Summit

NEWTON, Kan. – The Omaha women's golf team rose into a tie for fifth after the second round of the Summit League Championship on Sunday.

The Mavericks shot a team score of 335 in round two to put them at 658 for the 54-hole event, tying them with North Dakota.

Denver continues to lead the championship with a score of 614.  South Dakota State is three strokes back in second while Oral Roberts is third at 643.

Jinna Boonbumroongsuk still leads the Mavericks in scoring with a total of 160.  She shot 85 in the second round and is now tied for 13th in the field of 40 golfers.

Mandi Granato had UNO's low round of the day, a 78, to put here one stroke behind Boonbumroongsuk at 161.  She's tied for 15th.

Mika Miyata, Hannah Hunke and Zora Gittens are tied for 31st overall with matching scores of 170.  Miyata shot 87 in round two while Hunke posted an 88 and Gittens carded an 85.

The final round of the championship begins at 8 a.m. from the Sand Creek Station Golf Course.
