DES MOINES, Iowa – The Omaha men's tennis team fell 4-3 at Drake on Saturday in Des Moines, Iowa.
The loss drops the Mavericks to 7-11 (0-1 Summit League) on the season while the Bulldogs improve to 3-4 (2-0).
Doubles Play
Abdoul Ouattara and
Matt Hulme collected a 6-3 win in the No. 1 spot and
Davis Lawley and
Hugo Piles Ballester won 7-5 in the No. 2 match to collect the doubles point for the Mavericks.
Singles Play
Drake captured four of the six singles matches to clinch the 4-3 win over the Mavericks. Ouattara won a straight-set victory over Benedek Herman in the No. 2 spot while
Davis Lawley won 7-6, 6-4 over Reid Jarvis. Hulme dropped the No. 1 match in three sets while Piles Ballester,
Yaswanth Mylavarapu and
Philip Olsson lost their respective matches in straight sets.
