SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Omaha women's golf team finished in sixth place at the MSU Spring Invitational on Tuesday.
The Mavericks closed the 54-hole tournament with a team score of 330, their lowest of the event, to finish with a total of 1,014.
Host Missouri State won with a score of 934. Creighton was second at 962, and Drake finished third at 968.
Zora Gittens led the Mavericks in scoring and was 19th overall with a total of 247. She closed the tournament with a round of 82.
She was three strokes ahead of teammate
Jinna Boonbumroongsuk at 250. Boonbumroongsuk shot a team-low round of 77 on Tuesday and tied for 21st in the field of 40 golfers.
Hannah Hunke was third on the team and tied for 28th overall with a score of 257, a total that included a final round of 84.
Mandi Granato finished in 32nd place. She closed with a score of 87 for a three-round total of 260.
Izzi Puk was fifth on the team and 36th overall. She posted a final score of 273 that included a third-round card of 87.
Brynn Sundquist finished the scoring for the Mavericks, shooting 90 on Tuesday to post a total of 279.
The Mavericks will have a week off before heading east to take part in the Diane Daugherty Invitational at Southern Illinois on Monday and Tuesday, March 29-30.
