OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha volleyball team will play its first matches of the season at Baxter Arena this weekend when it hosts Summit League rival Kansas City on Sunday and Monday, Feb. 7-8.

Sunday's match will begin at 11 a.m., and Monday's contest starts at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets for the matches are available at Ticketmaster.com, BaxterArena.com and through the Maverick app.  There will be no walk-up sales at the Baxter Arena box office to eliminate crowds in the arena lobby.

The Mavericks are 2-2 to start the season, and they're coming off a split of two matches at Denver.  After dropping the first, 3-0, on Sunday, UNO came back for a 3-1 victory on Monday in their first ever win in the Mile High City.

Among the story lines for this series:
  • Freshman McKenna Ruch notched her second double-double with a season-high 17 kills and 11 digs in the win over DU.
  • Claire Mountjoy ranks seven all-time in program history and 14th among the NCAA's active career leaders with 1,519 digs.
  • Mountjoy became the seventh Maverick in program history last weekend to surpass the 1,500-dig mark.
  • Head coach Matt Buttermore is one win shy of career No. 200.
