OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha volleyball team will play its first matches of the season at Baxter Arena this weekend when it hosts Summit League rival Kansas City on Sunday and Monday, Feb. 7-8.
Sunday's match will begin at 11 a.m., and Monday's contest starts at 6:30 p.m.

BaxterArena.com and through the Maverick app. There will be no walk-up sales at the Baxter Arena box office to eliminate crowds in the arena lobby.
The Mavericks are 2-2 to start the season, and they're coming off a split of two matches at Denver. After dropping the first, 3-0, on Sunday, UNO came back for a 3-1 victory on Monday in their first ever win in the Mile High City.
Among the story lines for this series:
- Freshman McKenna Ruch notched her second double-double with a season-high 17 kills and 11 digs in the win over DU.
- Claire Mountjoy ranks seven all-time in program history and 14th among the NCAA's active career leaders with 1,519 digs.
- Mountjoy became the seventh Maverick in program history last weekend to surpass the 1,500-dig mark.
- Head coach Matt Buttermore is one win shy of career No. 200.
