BELLEVILLE, Ill. – The Omaha men's tennis team won its second match of the weekend with a 5-2 victory over Saint Louis on Sunday in Belleville, Ill.
The win moves the Mavericks to 6-6 on the year while Saint Louis falls to 0-3.
Doubles Play
Philip Olsson and
Julian Kenzlers tallied the lone victory for the Mavericks in the doubles matches with a 6-1 victory in the No. 3 spot. Saint Louis garnered wins in the No. 1 and No. 2 matches to clinch the doubles point.
Singles Play
Davis Lawley won in straight-sets in the No. 3 spot while
Hugo Piles Ballester won in two sets over his opponent in the No. 4 match to give the Mavericks a 2-1 lead. Olsson collected a two-set win in the No. 5 spot and Alvario Quintana won 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 6 match to clinch the victory for the Mavericks. Omaha added its fifth and final point when Aboul Ouattara rallied for a three-set victory after dropping the first set the in the No. 1 match.
