OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha men's tennis team suffered a 4-3 setback vs. Air Force on Friday night at Miracle Hill Tennis Center.
The loss drops the Mavericks to 4-5 on the season while the Falcons improve to 2-1.
Doubles Play
Abdoul Ouattara and
Matt Hulme combined to notch a 6-2 victory in the No. 1 spot over Jamie Bautista and Paul Hendrix. The Falcons tallied a win the No. 3 spot while
Davis Lawley and
Hugo Piles Ballester recorded a 6-2 victory over Jonathan Mascagni and Justin Waldman in the No. 2 spot to clinch the doubles point for the Mavericks.
Singles Play
All six singles matches were decided in straight sets with Air Force taking the victory in four of the matches. Ouattara collected a 7-6, 6-3 win over Paul Hendrix in the No. 1 match. Hulme defeated Waldman 6-2 in the first set, followed by a 7-5 victory in the second set to win the match in the No. 2 spot.
