Mavericks Set For Road Matches at Indiana and Eastern Illinois

OMAHA, Neb. - The Mavericks hit the road for a two-game slate this week. They start the action at Indiana on Wednesday, Oct. 6 at 6:30 p.m. and follow it up with a league game at Eastern Illinois on Saturday, Oct. 9 at 12 p.m. Omaha opened conference action last week with a 2-0 shutout vs. Kansas City. The Mavericks enter the weekend as one of three Summit League teams that remain undefeated in league play.

Quick Kicks
  • The Mavericks earned three points in the standings with a 2-0 shutout vs. Kansas City last weekend. Dominik Danis netted the game winner 14 minutes into the action. It marked his first career goal.
  • Connor Jokerst made it 2-0 with a second half goal for Omaha. It also marked his first career goal.

Scouting the Indiana Hoosiers
The Hoosiers are 5-3-1 entering this week of action and 2-2-0 in Big Ten play. Indiana has picked up conference wins vs. Northwestern and Michigan State, but fell to Rutgers and Michigan. The Hoosiers played to a 1-1 draw vs. No. 16 Akron earlier this season. They also picked up wins vs. Notre Dame, Butler, and Xavier.

Hoosiers to Watch
  • Daniel Munie leads the Hoosiers with five points, including two goals and an assist. He also has six shots and four shots on goal.
  • Tommy Mihalic leads Indiana with 18 shots on the year. He also has two goals for the Hooisers for four points this season.
  • Roman Celentano has logged every minute in goal for the Hooisers. He posts a 1.19 goals against average and has tallied 26 saves for a .703 save percentage.

Scouting the Eastern Illinois Panthers
The Panthers are 1-6-1 heading into this week of play. EIU picked up a conference opening win vs. St. Thomas on Sept. 25, but fell 2-0 at Denver on Oct. 2. EIU's lone draw of the year cam vs. Green Bay back on Sept. 21. The Panthers were tabbed sixth in the Summit League Preseason Poll following a 1-8-2 finish last spring.

Panthers to Watch
  • Lenni Kirchner has appeared in eight matches making seven starts this season. He has a goal for the Panthers and is tied as the team's leader with eight shots. He also adds three shots on goal.
  • Brennan Rzewuski is one of four Panthers to start every match this season and logged a team leading 683 minutes on the pitch. Rzewuski has an assist, three shots, and a shot on goal for EIU.
  • Between the pipes, Jonathan Burke has made seven starts. Burke has a 1-5-1 record, 1.25 goals against average, 28 saves, and a .757 save percentage.
