Volleyball Closes Home Stand with Oral Roberts

OMAHA, Neb. - The two undefeated Summit League teams will meet in Baxter Area this week as Omaha hosts Oral Roberts on Tuesday, Oct. 5. The match is set to start at 7 p.m. The Mavericks are coming off a dominating performance vs. Denver last weekend winning 3-1. They extended their win streak to three games, and snapped Denver's nine-game win streak.

  • Omaha handed Denver its first set loss in six matches Saturday afternoon. The Mavericks took the first two sets, but the Pioneers managed to force four sets with a win in the third.

Scouting the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles
The Golden Eagles are 10-3 overall and 4-0 in conference play. ORU is riding a four-game win streak after downing North Dakota and North Dakota State in three-set sweeps. They also upset reigning champion South Dakota, 3-1, followed by a 3-2 win vs. South Dakota State. As a team, the Eagles are hitting .251 to rank second in the league. ORU also ranks second with 12.33 assists per set and 13.31 kills per set.

Eagles to Watch
  • Madison Harms is hitting .390 on the year, which sits fourth in the Summit League. She sits second on the squad with 119 kills for an average of 2.43 kills per set.
  • Trinity Freeman leads ORU with 126 total kills. She also has 38 total blocks this season for a team high.
  • Sarah Thiessen is averaging 4.37 digs per set with a total of 214 on the season. She adds 10 aces for the Eagles.
