Omaha, Neb. - The Mavericks are in 2nd place at the Creighton Classic after two rounds of golf Monday.
Omaha sits ten strokes behind Creighton with a score of 625 through 36 holes at Oak Hills Country Club in Omaha. Iowa Western is in 3rd place, eight strokes behind the Mavericks.
Sophomore Jinna Boonbumroongsuk and junior Mandi Granato are tied in 3rd place with scores of 153 through two rounds. Boonbumrooongsuk shot three over in the first round and four over in the second. Granato shot an even par in round one and seven over in round two.
Mika Miyata is in 8th place on the leaderboard and in third place on the team, The junior shot five over in the first round and seven over in the second for a day one total of 158.
Freshmen Sydney Taake and Emma Kirvan finish the first round with scores of 161 and 166, respectively. Taake sits in 11th place and Kirvan is tied for 15th.
Golfing individually;
Freshman Maddie Simon is tied for 17th place after recording a total score of 167 through two rounds.
Senior Zora Gittens ends day one with a total score of 172. Gittens is tied for 19th on the leaderboard.
Junior Izzi Puk and senior Cassidy Ulrich are tied for 22nd after shooting 175 in rounds one and two.
Round three of the Creighton Classic begins Tuesday, October 12 at 8:30 a.m.
