The Omaha volleyball team opens Summit League play this weekend with a pair of matches at Denver. The Mavericks take on the Pioneers on Sunday, Jan. 31 at 4 p.m. and on Monday, Feb. 1 at 3 p.m.
 
Both matches will be played at Hamilton Gymnasium in Denver, Colo. Links to live stats and video for both matches are available on OMavs.com.

  • Lydia Bartalo and Tina Boe were named to the Summit League's Players to Watch List.
  • Bartalo was named AVCA All-American, AVCA Midwest All-Region Team and Summit League Player of the Year in 2019 while Boe was selected to the All-Summit League Team.
  • Denver returns 12 players from last season and welcomes four newcomers to this year's team.
  • Head coach Tom Hogan enters his fifth season at Denver and holds a record of 96-27 with the Pioneers.
All-Time Against Denver
Sunday's matchup marks the 17th all-time meeting between Omaha and Denver. The Pioneers lead the series over the Mavericks, 15-1.
 
Omaha's lone victory came in a three-set sweep at Baxter Arena on Oct. 24, 2015.
 
Mavericks in Summit League Openers
Omaha is 5-3 in Summit League openers since its first season in the Summit League in 2012. The Mavericks are 3-0 in Summit League openers on the road and currently have a three-match win streak in the conference openers with two wins over South Dakota State and a victory vs. North Dakota in 2019.
 
Looking Ahead
Omaha continues Summit League play next weekend as the Mavericks host Kansas City. The teams begin the two-match series on Sunday, Feb. 7 at 11 a.m. before wrapping up the series on Monday at 6:30 p.m.
