MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Omaha men's tennis team completed its weekend sweep at Marquette with a 6-1 victory on Saturday.
The Mavericks improve to 2-3 on the season while the Golden Eagles fall to 0-2.
Doubles Play
Omaha clinched the doubles point by sweeping Marquette in all three matches.
Matt Hulme and
Abdoul Ouattara and
Philip Olsson and
Julian Kenzlers won their respective No. 1 and No. 3 matches via a 7-5 decision while
Hugo Piles Ballester and
Davis Lawley won the No. 2 match, 6-3.
Singles Play
The momentum carried into the singles matches as Omaha came away victorious in five of the six matches. Ouattara, Hulme and Lawley garnered straight-set victories in the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4 matches, respectively. Piles Ballester edged his foe 10-8 in the third set to clinch a three- set win in the No. 3 match. After exchanging wins in the first two sets, Olsson posted a 10-5 in the third set of the No. 5 match to win his match.
