OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha men's tennis head coach
Matthew Barlow announced the signing of Philip Olsson to the Mavericks for the 2020-21 season on Thursday.
"I am excited to have Philip as my first signee," said Barlow. "After our initial conversation, I knew Philip would fit in well with the team and program."
Olson joins the Mavericks from Berlin, Germany, after completing his high school career at Privatschule Schiller Gymnasium. He advanced to the semifinal of the Schwapp Tennis Series in 2018 before reaching the semifinal of the Vitalyte Tour in 2019 and quarterfinal of the Verbandsmeisterschaften der Damen und Herren in 2019.
"He is a determined and talented player that has had great coaching," added Barlow. "I am excited to see his continued development here at Omaha starting this fall."
