ELK GROVE, Calif. – The Omaha men's golf team is in seventh place after the first 36 holes of the Sacramento State Invitational on Monday at the Valley Hi Country Club.
The Mavericks shot team scores of 307 and 315 for a total of 622. CSU-Fullerton leads the 10-team event with a score of 589. UC Santa Barbara is three strokes back, and host Sacramento State is third at 605.
Nick Kagy leads the Mavericks in scoring with a total score of 151. He shot a team-best round of 73 in round one and came back with a 78 to put him in a tie for 12th place.
Josh Peters is second on the team and tied for 25th with a total of 155 that includes rounds of 77 and 78. He's two strokes ahead of teammate
Witchayapat Sinsrang who shot 78 and 79 for a total of 159. He's in a tie for 35th.
Phoomintr Kaewvichien is fourth on the team at 160 after shooting scores of 79 and 81. He's tied for 49th.
Josh Bartels rounded out the team scoring at 167, a total that includes scores of 87 and 80.
The final round begins at 10:30 a.m. CT on Tuesday.
