COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Omaha swimming & diving team was named to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America list for the Fall 2019 semester, the association announced Wednesday.

The Mavericks posted the highest team grade-point average among all DI women's programs with a 3.76 GPA.

"Getting a 3.76 team grade-point average is an amazing accomplishment," said head coach Todd Samland. "Our culture has some mechanisms that challenge our athletes along with amazing support given by our staff. Our coaches have a strong belief in expecting the best and our athlete academic support system that helps all of our athletes to get the most out of each class."

The CSCAA selected a record 762 programs from 480 institutions to the Scholar All-America Team for the Fall 2019 semester. Teams were selected on the basis of their Fall 2019 grade-point averages and represent 17,685 student-athletes.

"I would like to thank our top notch athletic academic staff of Kale Wietfeld, Lindsey Ekwerekwu and Dani Brooke and our outstanding coaches Jessica Hessel and Eric Sprague," added Samland. "Above all, I would like to thank the 21 athletes we have in our program that met the challenges and did the work to make this all happen."
