CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Bethany Gatlin led the Maverick swimming & diving team with two individual victories in Omaha's 180.5-113.5 loss at UNI on Saturday afternoon in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
The Ashburn, Va., native won the 200 fly with a swim of 2:11.53 and clocked a 59.56 to earn the victory in the 100 fly. Gatlin also notched a second-place finish in the 100 free with a time of 54.54.
The Mavericks went back-to-back in the 50 free with
Brook Landt winning the 50 free with a swim of 25.11, followed by
Rachel Morrow swimming a 25.39 to place second.
Reece Cooper won the 1-meter dive with a score of 245.02 points.
Lizzy Giese clocked a 2:12.54 to place second in the 200 fly while
Caroline Gardner finished runner-up in the 100 breast with swim of 1:04.92.
Annie Leinart placed second in the 200 breast with a time of 2:23.98 and Morrow swam a 5:15.65 in the 500 free to garner her second runner-up finish.
Rebecca Martini clocked a 2:13.59 to finish second in the 200 IM.
Megan Latta, Gardner, Gatlin and
Alyssa Parsons teamed up to place second in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:50.70.
The 200 free relay made up of Landt,
Abigail Mitchell,
Anna Capoun and Morrow clocked a 1:40.46 to finish runner-up.
The Mavericks return to action on Saturday, Feb. 1 at the UIC Invite in Chicago, Ill.
