LINCOLN, Neb. – The Omaha track & field team wrapped up competition at the Graduate Classic at Nebraska on Saturday.
Freshman
Carrie Simonson took ninth in her first collegiate 200 meter race with a time of 26.49.
In the 60 meters,
Brekk Flax ran a time of 7.90, one day after tying her lifetime best in the preliminary heats. While her time was the eighth-fastest of the day, she did not advance to the finals based on qualification procedures.
Also on the track, the distance medley relay team of
Maya Nachtigal,
Raegan Andersen,
Paige Blackford and
Anita Jenkins took fifth with a time of 12:55.80.
"We now have a meet under our belt, and we know where a lot of people stand," said head coach
Chris Richardson. "We can now get back to work on Monday and keep working towards our goals."
The Mavericks return to action at the Jim Emmerich Invitational at South Dakota State on Saturday, Jan. 25.
