LINCOLN, Neb. – The Omaha swimming & diving team opened the 2020 portion of the 2019-20 season with a 202-88 loss at Nebraska on Saturday at the Devaney Center Natatorium in Lincoln.
Abigail Mitchell,
Caroline Gardner,
Bethany Gatlin and
Brook Landt teamed up to clock a time of 4:01.07 to finish third in the 400 medley relay.
Mitchell placed second in the 200 back with a time of 2:09.16 and third in the 100 back with a finish of 58.56.
Annie Leinart swam a 2:25.59 in the 200 breast to place second while placing third in the 100 breast with a time of 1:07.57.
Gatlin placed second in the 100 fly with a finish of 59.97 and finished third in the 200 fly with a time of 2:11.74.
Omaha picked up its lone event winner of the day when Gardner captures the victory in the 100 breast with finish of 1:05.97
In the 500 free,
Rachel Morrow placed third while swimming a time of 5:13.76.
Lizzy Giese and
Mallory Dickey went back-to-back in the 400 IM to place second and third with times of 4:44.04 and 4:46.41, respectively.
Rebecca Martini swam a 1:01.58 to finish third in the 100 fly.
Reece Cooper led the Mavericks in the 1-meter dive with a score of 188.40 to place second, followed by a third-place finish by
Kady Eller with a total of 187.50
The Mavericks are back in action weekend as Omaha ventures to Cedar Falls, Iowa, to take on UNI on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 1 p.m.
