WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – Seniors
Nick Kagy and
Witchayapat Sinsrang posted matching scores of 150 to put the Omaha men's golf team in seventh place after the first two rounds of the Zach Johnson Invitational.
The Mavericks shot team scores of 309 and 305 for a total of 614 at the Glen Oaks Country Club. Loyola-Chicago leads after day one with a score of 601. Host Drake, Creighton and Valparaiso are all tied for second, two strokes back.
Kagy carded rounds of 76 and 74 while Sinsrang posted scores of 79 and an even-par 71 to put them in a tie for eighth in the field of 75 golfers.
Josh Peters is third on the team and in a tie for 29th overall with a score of 155 that featured rounds of 76 and 79. He's four strokes ahead of fellow freshman
Josh Bartels who fired rounds of 78 and 81 to put him in a tie for 45th.
Parker Waters wrapped up the team scoring for the Mavericks with scores of 88 and 82 for a total of 170.
The final round begins at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
