Men's Tennis Collects Four Championships in Bluejay Invitational

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha men's tennis program won four championships at the Bluejay Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Koch Family Tennis Center in Omaha, Neb.
 
The Mavericks also recorded three consolation championship victories on the weekend.
 
"This was an impressive weekend from the men'" said Omaha director of tennis Adam Summitt. "The guys showed up and played some amazing tennis against solid competition."
 
In doubles action, Nathan Reekie and Matt Hulme teamed up to capture the championship in Flight A with wins over Creighton, Wichita State and North Dakota.
 
Abdoul Outtara and Davis Lawley defeated Doane and Creighton in Flight A while Hugo Piles Ballester and Ethan Henry recorded victories over North Dakota and Doane in Flight C.
 
In Flight D, Jacob Weber and Ben Starman tallied a pair of wins against North Dakota, followed by victories over North Dakota and Creighton by Alvaro Quintana and Mason Sniatynski.
 
"The doubles play was near perfect this weekend and should be great confidence for the team going into next weekend," added Summitt. "I am proud of all of the guys and though they all competed hard."
 
Outtara garnered the singles crown in Flight A with wins over North Dakota's Lukas Buth, Wichita State's Elio Lago and Murkel Dellien.
 
In Flight B, Hulme defeated Doane's Elliott Abromeit and Jorge Chevez and Wichita State's Bruno Serra to capture the championship while Lawley notched victories over Creighton's Jose Diaz and Doane's Elliott Abromeit to record the consolation championship.
 
Sniatynski won over Doane's Henrique Sakoda and Sam Coy and Starman defeated Doane's Milo Ciotti and Creighton's Moorhead as the duo battled back in their flights to collect the consolation championships in Flights C and D.
 
Weber bested Doane's Vester and Bornemeier to earn the singles championship in Flight E.
 
The Mavericks continue action next weekend at the ITA All-American Championships beginning on Friday, Oct. 4 in Tulsa, Okla.
