Men's Soccer Prepares for Air Force on the Road

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha men's soccer team heads west for a road match at RV Air Force on Saturday, Sept. 21 in USAF Academy, Colo. The Mavericks and Falcons are set to kickoff at 7 p.m. CST.

Scouting the Air Force Falcons
The Air Force Falcons enter the weekend with a 1-4-0 mark on the season after losing to Cal State Fullerton and UC Riverside last weekend. The Falcons are receiving votes in this week's United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll.
 
The Falcons have scored five goals this season and have been shut out in two matches while taking 8.6 shots per match, including 48.8 percent of those on goal.
 
The Air Force defense has allowed 10 goals this season with opponents shooting 17.4 shots per match, including 34.5 percent of those on target. Goalkeeper Kainoa Likewise is 1-4-0 on the season with 19 saves and a 2.00 goals-against average.
 
Falcons to Watch
  • No. 10 Tristan Trager – leads the Falcons with six points and three goals in five starts.
  • No. 19 James D'Emidio – second on the team with a goal in five starts.
  • No. 13 Quinn Matulis – tied for second on the team with a goal in four appearances.

Omaha leads the all-time series with the Falcons, 1-0. The Mavericks notched a 1-0 victory on Sept. 23, 2016 in Omaha, Neb.
 
Looking Ahead
Omaha returns to Caniglia Field next weekend as the Mavericks are set to host No. 23 CSUN on Friday, Sept. 27 at 8 p.m.
