• Omaha finished 3-0 at the Omaha Challenge Tournament for the second-straight year.
• The Mavericks swept Abilene Christian and Idaho State on the first day, and overcame a two-set deficit to defeat UAlbany on the final day of the tournament.

Williams also notched her first-career double-double of 12 kills and 14 digs against UAlbany.
• Mountjoy is currently at 961 digs. She is looking to become the first Maverick since Sydney O'Shaughnessy to join the 1,000-kill club.

SCOUTING THE JAYHAWKS
Kansas began the season with a 3-2 victory at UMKC Friday, Aug. 30. In that match, Gracie Van Driel led the Jayhawk attack with 14 kills over three sets.

This will be the first time since Nov. 6, 1982, that Kansas and Omaha have met in Omaha. It will also mark the first-ever meeting between the two programs inside Baxter Arena. The team was voted seventh in the Big 12 preseason poll while Texas was tabbed to finish atop the standings.   Head coach Ray Bechard enters his 22nd season at KU and his 35th overall.

Kansas is receiving votes for the 2019 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Preseason Poll. They are one of our teams who compete in the Big 12 that received votes for the preseason poll. The others were Texas (No. 4), Baylor (No. 20) and TCU, who is receiving four votes. Kansas owns the all-time series 7-2 over Omaha. The last time Omaha defeated Kansas was that previous meeting in Omaha, where the Mavericks won 2-0.

LOOKING AHEAD
Omaha travels to Manhattan, Kan., for the K-State Invitational this Thursday, Sept. 5 - Friday, Sept. 6. The Mavericks face off against Central Arkansas Sept. 5 at 4 p.m., followed by a pair of Sept. 6 matches against Clemson and Kansas State at 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
