Volleyball Showcases at Black/White Scrimmage

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha volleyball team wrapped up its annual Black and White Scrimmage Thursday night inside Baxter Arena.

After trailing 1-0 in the match, Team White rallied back and took the next three sets to claim the victory (25-22, 25-7, 25-18, 25-23).

For Team White, Claire Leonard posted a match-high 15 kills on .333 hitting to go with six digs. Fellow teammate Claire Mountjoy recorded 14 digs. Newcomer Megan Woods had 13 kills and eight digs, followed by Anna Blaschko with 10 kills and three blocks for Team White.

On Team Black, Isabella Sade recorded a team-high 13 kills, followed by Sadie Limback with 11 kills and three blocks. Courtney Morehead notched a team-high 14 digs, while Rylee Marshall tallied a match-high six blocks.

The Mavericks officially begin the season with the Omaha Challenge Aug. 30-31 inside Baxter Arena. The tournament features Albany, Idaho State and Abilene Christian in a round-robin format. For links to tickets and additional information, visit OMavs.com.
