OMAHA, Neb. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association has announced its annual academic awards, with the Omaha women's tennis team named to the ITA All-Academic awards list.
Five players were also named ITA Scholar-Athletes for the 2018-19 season.
The Mavericks compiled a 3.52 cumulative GPA in the 2018-19 academic year for ITA All-Academic Team recognition. The ITA Scholar-Athlete award winners included
Natalie Lorentz,
Emily Behling,
Justine Linscott,
Marie Kapelevich and
Janelle Wilson.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team GPA of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All varsity letterwinners are factored into the cumulative team GPA for the academic year, including the Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 semesters.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must meet the following criteria: 1) be a varsity letterwinner, 2) have a GPA of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and 3) have been enrolled at her present school for at least two semesters (including freshman through senior year).
